Refund Policy

Notariety, LLC Refund Policy

Our goal is to provide reliable, professional, and compliant mobile notary services. Our fees are based on the time and travel required to perform our service, whether or not the notarial act is completed. Please review our refund and cancellation policy carefully before booking an appointment.

 

1. General Policy

All service fees (Professional Service Fee, travel fee, printing fee, etc.) are considered earned upon the notary's departure for the appointment or upon services rendered. Notarial act fees are only earned upon the successful completion of the notarial act. We do not offer refunds for services that have been successfully performed or for travel once undertaken.

2. Refund Eligibility by Fee Type

  • Notarial Acts Fee ($10 per signature): This is a state-regulated fee of $10 per individual Notarial Act (signature). This fee is charged upon the successful completion of each Notarial Act. For full transparency and compliance, all notarial acts performed, whether included in your Professional Service Fee or added as additional, will be clearly itemized on your final invoice. This fee is non-refundable once a Notarial Act is successfully completed. If the Notarial Act is not completed for any reason (e.g., signer refuses to sign, notary refuses service for a valid reason), this specific $10 fee will not be charged.

  • Professional Service Fee: This fee covers our professional time, expertise, and includes standard local travel within our base service radius (0-50 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport).

    • Full Refund: A full refund of the prepaid Professional Service Fee will be issued if the notary is unable to perform the service due to the notary's error or a scheduling conflict on our part.

    • No Refund: No refund will be issued for the Professional Service Fee if the notarization cannot be completed due to the client's failure to meet the requirements outlined in our Terms and Conditions (e.g., signer lacks valid ID, documents are incomplete or not ready, signer is a no-show, signer is not of sound mind). This fee is considered earned once the notary departs for the appointment.

  • Extended & Extreme Travel Fees: These are additional, non-refundable charges for travel beyond our standard local service area (51+ miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport). These fees are earned once the notary has departed for the appointment.

    • No Refund: The Extended or Extreme Travel Fee is non-refundable if:

      • The notary arrives at the scheduled location and time.

      • The notarization cannot be completed due to the client's failure to meet the requirements (e.g., signer lacks valid ID, documents are incomplete or not ready, signer is a no-show, signer is not of sound mind).

      • The appointment is canceled by the client after the notary has already departed for the signing location.

  • Printing Fee: If you requested printing, the printing fee is non-refundable once the documents have been printed and prepared for travel.

  • Other Additional Fees: Fees for After Hours, Rush, Wait Time, etc., are non-refundable once the service period for which they apply has commenced or the notary has departed.

3. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation with more than 2 hours' notice: You may cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 2 hours' notice before the scheduled appointment time to receive a full refund of any prepaid Professional Service Fees.

  • Late Cancellation (less than 2 hours' notice): Appointments canceled with less than 2 hours' notice, or if the notarization cannot be completed due to the client's failure to meet the requirements (e.g., signer lacks valid ID, documents are incomplete or not ready, signer is not of sound mind), the client will be responsible for the full additional travel fee (should one be applicable) and a forfeiture fee equivalent to 50% of all applicable professional service fees.

  • No-Show: If the notary arrives at the scheduled location and time but is unable to perform the service because the client or signer is not present after a 15-minute grace period, this will be considered a "no-show." In this case, the client will be responsible for the full additional travel fee (should one be applicable) and a forfeiture fee equivalent to 50% of all applicable professional service fees.

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us at (623) 688-6054 or accounting@notarietyaz.com. All refund requests will be reviewed and processed within 5-7 business days. Approved refunds will be processed to the original method of payment.

5. Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) / Disputed Charges

Any charges that are returned due to insufficient funds in your account will incur a $25 NSF fee in addition to the original charge. In the event of a payment dispute, you agree to refer to these terms of service and refund policy.
